Polishing up old posts
As part of my larger effort to revamp my website, I’ve been re-reading a bunch of my older blog posts.
I had some… interesting ideas in the past. Some of them being things I would strongly rally against these days, being older, wiser, and definitely grumpier.
Why not take them down?
I’ve thought about it, but in the end I decided I wanted to keep them online. I think it’s important to showcase that everyone’s journey is different. Not everyone immediately knows everything. It’s important to learn, stumble, try again and grow.
Accessibility can be hard to wrap one’s mind around. Especially if it’s new to you. Many of my older blog posts clearly demonstrate that I didn’t always know what I know today. I’m hoping, as I start cleaning up some of the older posts, and adding overt call outs of “hey, maybe don’t do this anymore” to some, these posts can show that everyone has to start somewhere.
It’s OK to course correct and grow in your knowledge. I hope keeping these around and updating them will help others realize this as well.
